Closer examination indicated that the feathers of an eagle wing, talons and a prey body had fallen from the sky and then leaped in battle to another area where a terrific fight ensued with snow disturbed fifteen feet across.<\/em><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6695\" src=\"http:\/\/oldnaturalist.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/ensuingbattle.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"http:\/\/oldnaturalist.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/ensuingbattle.jpg 640w, http:\/\/oldnaturalist.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/ensuingbattle-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/> <em>Then close by\u00a0 was another area stained with blood, bits of flesh and fur and the remains of a rabbit&#8217;s leg.
